A Chronology of the Kings of Judah and Israel
The Chart below outlines the chronology of Judah and Israel’s kings as set out on the biblical books of 1st and 2nd Kings and 1st and 2nd Chronicles. The time chart set out here is based on that set out by Edwin Thiele in “The Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings”. With a minor modification of a co regency for Hezekiah at the end of Ahaz’ reign. The chronology is remarkable because it is born from an apparent jumble of numbers in the books of Kings and Chronicles but which, when understood reveals a perfectly accurate record of the reigns of the kings. This is one more proof of the accuracy of both the original text and the accurate transmission of the Masoretic Text through the centuries.
